Did you know that speaking Punglish is speaking Punjabi?
Punglish = Punjabi and English in the same sentence.
And honestly?
It always makes me smile when I hear it, whether it’s me doing it or someone else.
Because Punglish isn’t something to avoid.
It’s a bridge.
A bridge to learning new vocabulary.
A bridge to confidence.
A bridge to actually speaking, instead of staying silent.
When I teach my students, we talk openly about Punglish.
I explain:
• Which Punglish sentences actually work
• Which ones to avoid
• And how to slowly shift from English-heavy sentences to more Punjabi, naturally, without pressure
For example…
Do you know what gusalkhana means?
Or would you just say bathroom in a sentence?
Both are okay because learning Punjabi is about being understood, not about speaking “perfect” Punjabi.
And this matters so much, especially for adult learners.
Inside my 6 month Punjabi Speaking Programme, you get a safe place to:
• Speak Punjabi (and Punglish!)
• Make mistakes
• Learn from them
• And grow in confidence with support every step of the way
This is the best place to get it wrong so you can get it right out in the real world.
If you’re ready to feel confident speaking, even if it starts with “good Punglish”…
