Every time I run this programme, I think back to an earlier version of myself.
The one who understood Punjabi but didn’t know how to respond.
The one who smiled and nodded at family gatherings.
Who avoided eye contact with elders.
Who waited for conversations to pass.
I stayed quiet for a long time.
Not because I didn’t care but because I didn’t know how to speak.
What I needed back then was a safe place to practice.
A place where I could try, make mistakes, and learn, without judgement.
That’s why this programme exists.
