What a week!
This week was my eldest's 5th Birthday!
He wanted to celebrate with keertan at the Gurdwara and wanted to give cupcakes to all the sangat/congregation who attended. So that's what we did!
On top of this, we did a few balloons (gubare) at home and treated him to a cheese cake for a birthday cake.
We don't blow our candles in our home as the cake becomes jutha ਜੂਠਾ
We clap over the candles or wave our hands to blow them out instead!
There are certain words that just don't have an English translation. Can you help me out .... how do you explain jutha in English?
