Shukarwar/Gap Shap with Harsimrat

Last week we spoke about the best part of now living in Punjab.

It's only fitting that this week, we look at the worst part ... timings!

Since my husband and I are still working, we are working UK hours, this means we start work at 2:30pm and work until around 2:30am in the morning.

We love our jobs, so it doesn't matter too much for us.

But it affects the rest of our decisions.

When there is a family event in the evening, we can't attend.

When there is a keertan programme in the evening, we can't attend.

At 2:30am, we can't just go for a walk, it's really dark. We don't really get an "evening" or "wind down" period anymore because it's the middle of the night.

On the other side, since we are already awake, attending programmes in the morning are easier (like Amritvela or Morning Prayers), but it takes a toll on the body as we end up being awake all night and sleeping a lot of the day.

It's taken us and our bodies a moment to adjust and make wise decisions that support our spiritual health and physical health.

But living somewhere and working in another timezone is not easy.

Has anyone else done this? Does anyone have any tips?
