This week in Sikhi through Arts and Crafts we focused on Mata Khivi Ji.

Who is Mata Khivi Ji and what made Mata Khivi Ji special?

Using the worksheet attached, you can also explore the things Mata Khivi Ji was remembered for with your child at home.

At the end, the Arts and Crafts activity is to create your very own langar thaal!

What you'll need:

- a white paper plate
- tissue paper in a range of colours
- pom poms (most the children in my session used white for kheer)
- card (some children asked for brown for kanak di roti and some asked for yellow for makki di roti)
- stickers or stamps (optional)
- scissors, glue, ruler, colours, pencils, pens
- and anything else you fancy

These can be found in any arts and crafts shop like The Works, Hobby Craft or even Poundland or Home Bargains etc. Sometimes its worth buying in bulk and then re-using what's left over for the next activity :)

 What's included?

- free PDF download
- step-by-step guide with questions and discussions points to have with your child
- step through worksheet that you can complete with your child. It has gaps for them to fill in and images to colour to reinforce what they have learnt
- some images of other children's work to spark some imagination
